  2. One day about eighty years ago, two men who were fairly old at that time, went for a walk through the bog. Their names were John Cardiff and Michael Byrne. When they were going for a walk their idea was to pick some bog-berries, because they were their favourite fruit. They had to walk a long distance in from the edge of the bog, and when they reached the place where the berries were, they discovered they had walked from Hawkfield to Clongorey bog. The two friends stayed
