news for his mother. And now he made up his mind that he would go to the very next fair of Kildare, and wish for the finest horse at the fair, and then he would go to the carpenter and wish for a splendid car, and he would become a carter and make a fine living. He never told his mother what use he was going to make of his two wishes, and she didn't tell him what she was going to wish for.
The Leprachaun met him a couple o' times and only said "Paddy the wishes are all right"
When the fair day came round, the two went off to Kildare together. Paddy went to the place where the horses were; but before he had time to make up his mind about the horse to wish for, his mother came to him with a big pot that she was hardly able to carry. "Look" says ahe "I'm a long time wishing for something like this, and I have it at last"
"You dont mane to say you gave your wish for that oul pot" says Paddy, and he as vexed as could be.
