    Whit Sunday
    On no condition must one bathe on this day. If they do, they are liable to take a cold out of it which may cause their death.
    One must never bather, no matter how good the weather, before this day.
    It is considered unlucky to do on water this day or do near the sea.
    St. John's Day
    The custom of lighting fires on the roadside is common. Usually at a cross roads or place where the young are in the habit of gathering. Whins[?], turf etc are got and all set ablaze. The people gather around this;
