While some are left to maintain the battle
Their rights to live on their native soil.
Have courage friends for the time is nearing
When landlords, agents and grabbers all
With foreign tyrants and native hirelands
And cursed co-vision will have their fall.
So we will join together in bands like brothers
In leagues of friendship united stand
And drive those vipers from dear old Ireland
and go in for freedom for home and land.
The man that composed this was Edward Knott and was told to me by Michael Flynn Know, Garadice P.O., Co Leitrim
Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
