  2. In the year 1839 there were a big wind storm which is known as the night of the Big Wind.
    The wind were so terrible that houses on Sliab an Iarainn were knocked down and the roofs were taken off others and this caused many lives to be lost.
    Trees were knocked down many of which fell upon the road and all traffic was held up. Stacks of corn and ricks of hay were too
