  1. A boy named James Cassels aged twenty who lives in the townland of Louragha in the parish of Kiltubrid is supposed to have the cure of the whooping cough.
This boy was born a short while after his father's death and therefore since he has never seen his father he has the power of this cure.
Hairs from this boys head are to be hung round the neck of the suffering child and in this way the cure is made.
It is also said that he can cure the back ache by walking across the back of the invalid three times.
