    When the cock crew in the morning the people knew it was time to get up, as they had no clocks. They also had a little house beside the door for the ducks but in that time they called it a "buckaun". Lots of people had no tables; they only had what they "skibs". They skibs were made of green sally rods and when the potatoes were boiled they were turned into the "skib" and they remained there but the water strained away. Then the "skib" was left up on a pot and the people sat round it and eat them and when they were finished the "skib" was washed and hung on the wall till required again.
