Carrowkeel Well
This well, to all I do appeal
Was Once, great use, to Carrowkeel.
Enclosed in, by its little bank
it's the purest water e'er was drank
On Sundays when o'erpowered by heat
I sought this well which was no cheat
It won't set me mad not make me blind
Or make me leave my cash behind
Or make me hideous to view
As some spring wells are want to do
And whose watery oft doth pass
Through the chalice at the Holly Mass
But some vile demon to me unknown
Hath closed it up with fire and stone
But through his mischief he has surely sought
The Punishment Tantalus has got
And Charon soon his sails will fix
A and sail over the river Styx
Chiefly Mass people calling to the well As result of unheeded repeated warnings, the well was closed up. Soon after the lines of the other page were penned beside the closed well. the occupiers referred to gots highly indignant and sent for Mr Swifte.
