- Long ago there was a boy living in Lenster named Dermot. One day he went to Dublin and when he was walking along a street he saw a lovely young lady named, "Aoife" sitting on a window. He stood on the street talking to her. She said "that she would like to run away to some country as she was sick of married and city life. She jumped from the window and ran away with Dermot. They came to a place on the side of the Lough-Mask road and spent the night there. Ever since that place is called, "leabhaidh Dearmuid." or Dermot's bed. The place is a common with water at one end of it. There is also a well there where the people get water during the summer months.
