   "My present", said the third traveller, "is not much to look at, but it might come in very useful to you as you go through life. It is a rough-looking walking stick, but if ever you are attacked by enemies all you will have to do is to hold it up and they will be paralysed in the track of their feet".
   Croidhe na Féile thanked them from the bottom of his heart, and the travellers went their way. Then he called his wife, and without telling her anything, spread the table-cloth on the old kitchen table. She could hardly believe her eyes when she saw the grand meal that was spread before them. Where did it all come from, and not a bite under the roof? When she heard what the travellers had done for them she forgave Croidhe na Féile for all his "foolishness".
   The following Sunday Croidhe na Féile invited the whole country-side to dinner. "Anyone", said he
