    plant called Comfry and scrape the roots until they come to the white part. Then they would put this on the cut. Another cure they had for a cut in their fingers was to put a grain of sugar in the fire and hold their finger over the part of the fire where the sugar was. Then it would be better in a few days.
    When a person had a cold or choking in the neck an old woman of the village would get a gander and let him breathe into the person's mouth and then he was supposed to be cured. When they had sore feet they used to put a bit of stirrabout in a white cloth and put it on their feet when going to bed.
    When the people had an absess in the jaw, they used to get a bit of soap and a grain of sugar and mix them together and put it on the cheek. Then an old man of the village used to pull the tooth for them with a string. When
