  1. I was again talking with Mrs Egan an old woman of Kilbride 79 years of age about the prayers the people used to say long ago. She told me that she got this information form her mother. She told me the prayer the people used to say when they used to get up in the morning. They used to make the sign of the cross in Irish and say this prayer “the blessing of God Almighty upon us and on our home! And then they used to make the sign of the cross again in Irish. She told me also that when they used to be starting work the prayer they used to say was - “God Almighty help me through this work and bless be from everybody’s eyes heart and mind amen.
