    the "Rose". It is said that the person who would take the water from this well should not look back till he would be a considerable distance away, if he did the well would follow him and form a lake over the country side.

  2. An old cure for a "cold" was by slicing a white turnip crossways, and shaking brown sugar on each slice and eating them, and in a short time the person would be better.
    Another good cure for a "cold " was by drinking flaxseed tea.
    "Bronchitis" used be cured by applying constant linseed poultices.
    "Lumbago" was cured long ago by applying a poultice of vinegar, and bran.
    A common cure for a "heartburn" is to drink butter-milk with some bread soda on it, and in a short time the "heartburn" will be cured.
