  1. One night a man was going home out of Hacketstown and as he was going along the road a little man ran in between his legs and took him up on his shoulders and carried him until he got up to a hill. The man did not know where he was until morning. When he wakened up he found himself on the top of a hill. He took off his coat and left it on the ground and put a stone over it and went home. Then the fairies had no more power over him.
