- Some people are very good for knowing the different changes of the weather. Anyone with rheumatism generally knows when it is going to rain as they get worse pain. The sky gets dark and gloomy when it is going to rain. The old people used to say that a rainbow in the morning is the sign of a storm, a rainbow in the evening is the sign of a clearing, and a rainbow at night is the shepherd's delight.
Before thunder the air gets heavy and warm and the sky gets dark. Some people get a headache before thunder. When the swallows fly high or sit on the housetop it is supposed to be a sign of good weather.
