  1. One day a poor girl was going home. A priest overtook her in a horse and trap and asked her to get up. She got up. After they had gone a long distance the priest asked her was she near home. She told him she had six more miles to go home. He said she could not go home that night. He got her a lodging. There were three brothers in the house and they decided to rob the girl. In the middle of the night one of the brothers went up to her room and opened the door and saw a soldier standing at the head of the bed. He told the brother. A second brother went up and two soldiers were there. The third brother went up and there were three soldiers there. In the meantime the priest wakened up and went for the girl. He took her away with him and asked her what saved her. She said I lie down in the name of the Father and of the Son and
