- (continued from previous page)only December when it is held on Saint Thomas's Day. The fairs are not held on Streets they are held in Tullow on a Fair Green. In Carlow they on the Fair Green also in Hacketstown. There is luck money always given. It is called Luck-Penny. When the animal is sold they are marked with raddle. The seller always keeps the Halter.
- At Carlow Graige their were three fairs held in the year. The first of April August and November and the last fair was held in the year 1893. These were great days for the shops in Graigue as there were no fairs in Carlow town a that time. All the animals were sold in the street and all dealers sold such as gates ladders potatoe-baskets and ropes in(continues on next page)
