  1. The greatest mower in this district was Micheal Treacy Grangeford Tullow Parish of Rathoe. He was able to mow one Irish acre and one rood in a day. He could mow either corn or meadowing in that time.

  2. Micheal Toole who lived in Grangeford Tullow, Parish of Rathoe was one of the greatest stone - lifters in his time. There was a large stone on Mr Thorpe's land weighing two tons or more. He wanted it removed. He got a number of men to remove it. Micheal Toole lifted it into a horses' cart alone and brought it back to Mr Thorpe.
