The Pucker Field got its name from a horse named Pucker which was running in the Castlemore Races and broke his neck crossing a ditch in this field. Mahon's Field got its from a man named Mahon that owned it. The Gravelly Hill got its name from a sandpit which is on it. The Rath Field got its name from a Rath which is on it.

  2. The townland of Grangeford Parish of Rathoe Barony of Carlow. On our own farm there is a field called Dawson's Park because people of that name lived in a house on this field. There are traces of it still there.
    Another field is the Dreamer's where a man named Paddy Byrne lived. He was called the Dreamer Byrne.
