- At a place called Allen's turn my friend Richard Connor told me that a man called Ned Allen lived there long ago. He was very rich and possessed numerous gold coins. Allen was often attacked but never did the attackers succeed in getting any of the valuable coins. It is said that Allen was buried alive, but before his burial he buried a large quantity of his gold coins. Numerous attempts to unearth the gold have proved fruitless, and so the gold is there to the present day. Lights have frequently been seen in the spot where where the gold is buried and when returning home form a dance young man was terrified to behold a Priest treading a paper beside the place where the gold is concealed. Suddenly, the priest vanished and there a dog stood barking. The turn is haunted and he is considered a very brave man to pass the place after 11 0'clock
