  1. When the soldiers were looking for Our Lord to put him to death, he went down a passage to hide. A spider wove his web across the passage when Our Lord had gone through. When the soldiers came to see if Our Lord was there, they saw the web and concluded that no one had gone through as they would have broken the web.
    When the Holy Women and Our Lord were going to Egypt, Our Lord asked a pony to carry him, but he refused to do so. He next asked a jennet to carry him, but the jennet said that he would not. Our Lord told him that he would never have a foal, and a jennet never had a foal. He then asked an ass to carry him. The ass agreed. Our lord mounted the ass and set out for Egypt. He let the ass go slowly. That is why an ass goes slowly.
    An ass before he tumbles makes a cross with his hoofs on the ground. When the Holy
