- Long ago a man called Nolan (a weaver from Rath, Streete) dreamt of a pot of gold in Lisderry fort. He was told in the dream that a man named John Fagan would pass the way and that he was to divide the gold with him. The next morning he (Nolan) went to dig for the money, and when he was just taking the lid off the pot, Fagan stepped into the fort beside him. He dropped the lid and began talking to Fagan. After a while Fagan went away and Nolan laughed and said to himself "Isn't it great I'll have it all for myself"? He went back to get the gold, but when he lifted the lid, it was a pot of horse manure he had.
