  1. Long ago the old people used not to make soda bread but they made cakes with boiled potatoes and oaten meal and they used to call it "Drugget Bread".
    This is how they made it:-
    They bruised boiled potatoes with the bottom of a porringer and mixed oaten meal with this. Then they made it into little cakes and baked them on a griddle. (This griddle was as big as a half door, it was round in shape, with two "ears" on the sides.)
