Long ago the people in Rabbitpark used to tie ribbons on the cows tails to keep away witchcraft.
In Graffogue long ago a certain family had a lot of cows. They would churn all day and get no butter only a little bit. A neighbouring family had only one or two cows and they had twice as much butter as their neighbours. I heard this story from Miss Farrell, Loughill, Longford. The buttermilk was and is given to calves, used for making bread and is also drunk.- Collector
