The "borrowed days" are the first three days of April. March borrowed three days from April to kill the cow. She was thin after the winter. When March was out she was happy but March borrowed three days from April to kill her. Ever since them they are called the "borrowed days". The worst blast is supposed to be on the "borrowed days". The dog days occur between the 24th July and the 26th August and if you get a sore it is sure to turn septic. People set Garlic on Good Friday. If you set eggs on a Saturday you will have all pullets. March is the month for setting onions.
