  1. Men were very strong long ago. Paddy Daly, a man living in Aughakernan, used to mow an acre of a meadow in a day. Mat Farrell used to dance hornpipes. It is said that it came natural to him.
Tom Mulligan used to sing Irish songs. There was another man who could throw a stone of 56 lbs. weight. There was a man who would go any distance if he heard of any weight in stone that no man could lift or carry. There was another man who was a great step-dancer. It came natural to him, and he got a lot of prizes for his good dancing.
