  1. Bread was eaten in olden times. The usual kinds of bread used were boxty bread, potato bread, oaten bread, and wheaten bread.
    There was a cross put on top of the cake. It was for good luck. The bread was usually cooked on a griddle
    All the oaten bread, and potatoes mixed with oaten meal, were baked before the fire standing against two turf.
    The people made their own bread for special occasions, such as a wedding, etc. They made their own flour
