  1. When any of the people died the neighbours of this townland carried the corpse to the next townland & so on till they came to the graveyard & in some cases they were not able to reach it. There are the ruins of seven houses in my district namely, Hanley's, McGrath's, Shanley's Fanning's, Skelly's, Jordan's, & McArdle's. These places were very thickly populated at this time. People had no potatoes for the next year. They had to eat Indian stirabout instead of potatoes.
