    It is a sign of bad weather to see a circle round the moon. The farther the circle the nearer the rain, the nearer the circle the farther the rain.
    It is a sign of rain when the curl leaves a pig's tail, and when dogs eat grass, and when cats sit with their backs to the fire at night.
    Birds
    It is a sign of bad weather when peacocks and curlews are going about shouting. If its going to be good weather the robin will in the top of the bush singing, and if not she will be in the butt of of it cheruping.
    When crickets fly round the lamp at night its a sign of good weather.
    It is a sign of a storm to see a blue blaze in the fire at night.
