    There was no soap making but instead the people used stale urine an sheep's manure to wash the clothes.
    A man would notice the people in the district to keep the urine. Then two men would go around with a tub and gather it up. The stale urine was mixed with the sheeps manure and the clothes were washed in this.

    When the old people had a house roofed and ready for thatching they would sheet the roof with bog scraws. Then they would cut sedge or rushes to put underneath to save the straw.
