  1. A burning
A contractor named Patrick Lynch lives in Oldcastle. He built this school in the year 1930.
One night in the early part of this year, their house was burned to the ground, some men coming in to the town in a lorry saw the house burning, they roused the people with the result that they escaped with their lives, but the house and all that it contained was burned with the exception of one picture.
This picture was one of Blessed Oliver Plunket, the frame, the picture cord and everything in the immediate vicinity was burned, but the picture remained untouched.
