    It happened that when they were going in to count the apples they dropped two at the gate and when they had them all counted out and divided evenly one of the boys said "and what about the two at the gate"
    When the two on-lookers at the gate heard this they ran for all they were worth down the road and never stopped till they reached their ouwn houses.
    They never found out who the mysterious couple was.
