    Ginnetys, up the Green Lane at Weldon's, down at the back of Drum's and out at the back of Morgan's. It ran straight from Balrenny Cross down to Devlin's Mill, and then into Slane. The old road can still be easily traced.
    At that time a road ran down past the present schools, through the "Bleach" across at a ford there, up over Whyte's Hill, and joined Strinagh Rd. A by-road, branched of that to the left, and ran over what is now called the "Cow-Road" and joined the Drogheda Rd. at Maxwell's. All these old roads were levelled and new roads made as Relief Works, after the Great Famine. On Kells road where the present bridge is, there was a ford on the river, and on Lower St, where the Bridge is there was another.
