  1. There are only two tailors in this district presently, who work in their own homes, instead of travelling about to different houses. One of them Finegan, lives on the Ardee Rd., and tailoring has been in his family for two or three generations, the other one named Geraghty lives on the Drogheda Rd. It is not recorded whether tailors travelled round to the houses or not.
    Most of the women of the district knit men's and boy's' stockings and jerseys and other articles of wear, but they do not weave their own thread or sell the articles made.
