    House, made spinning wheels.
    In an old windmill, still standing in sight of the village the Cistersian Monks of Mellifont employed men to grind corn.
    Harness-making is still carried on by a man named Callan, who lives about three miles from the village.

  2. Halloween was a great time. A big supper was provided which consisted of apple cake and brack in which rings were inserted. Who ever got the ring would be married before twelve months. Tricks were played and the especially tried certain means of seeing their future husbands.
    This little rhyme is said about Candlemas Day:-
