    all was done by the hand and the last nail maker in Ireland was a man called Greene, It was he got the house built we now live in.
    Hard looms for weaving linen were very common in used in the factory house up the Priest's Hill. There is a stretch of land at Collon called the "Bleach", where linen was bleached in years gone by.
    There was also a tanyard in Collon in days gone by and a bakery where Mr Sherlock now lives.
