  1. The local fairs are held at Tipperary, Cappawhite and Pallas. In this district the buyers of go to the farmers houses to buy cattle.
    Formerly there used to be fairs at Cluggin, Oola and Knockardin which have been discontinued. The fair of Cluggin ceased to be held about twenty years ago. It was held on the thirteenth of May.
    In Tipperary the fair is held in the streets. When parties are making a bargain the agreement is shown by striking hands.
    Every farmer has his own way for marking the cattle, some mark them with a coloured
