    N.B.
    The above are seven extracts from accounts and descriptions of St. James's well. Most points are similar except the mention of a fish. It is most likely that the pieces of cloth hanging on the bush were used to bathe the eyes.

  3. "This is not as well known as St. James Well. It is called The Grotto. There is a shrine there with a statue of Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin. There are steps going down to the well.
    There are a few big rocks at the back of it and a heap of stones. People who want to be cured drink the water. There is a mug there for which to drink it. At one side of the well there is a stone cross with the inscription.
