  1. There was an old man Billy Langley living in Cappamore about 25 years ago. He was a cripple but was able to go about with the aid of two wattles. He was illiterate and the boys of the village took delight in teasing him for he was- as they expressed it - "an awful old [?]", By this they meant it was easy to vex him. When Billy's vocabulary was exhausted he used to fling wattles at his tormentor- this was taken as a proof that he was bested.
One day when one of the boys annoyed him very much he said "I'll leave Ireland altogether."
"Where will you go Billy?" said his tormenter.
Billy thought for awhile and then said "I'll go to live in Caherconlish."
