  1. The period of the year during which marriages take place locally, is during Shorove or on Shorove Tuesday. The months thought unlucky for marriages are October and May. As the old saying is "Marry in May and you will rue the day." The rule the people observed for days of marriage long was, Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth , Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday, for losses, Friday for crosses, Saturday no luck atall.
