  1. In olden times food was very scanty because they had no money to buy it. At six o'clock in the morning they would eat their breakfast and then start for a hard days work. At one o'clock they would eat their dinner. The dinner consisted of potatoes and sour milk and a scanty cabbages. In the middle of the floor the table used to be set and all the people used to sit around in stools and boxes.
The supper at eight o'clock in the evening. Then after the supper the people sit around the fire telling tales. At eleven they would go to bed. Tea nor cups were not used in the olden times but sour milk and water instead. Wheaten bread was the most common in that time and it used to be eaten with milk or potatoes and the people were stronger that time than they are now although they have tea and fine dinners and nice things to eat such as nice cakes.
