    No wonder that the Saint was glad to be back in Munster,
    For I am bound that from that ground he never more would wander,
    'Tis there St. Patrick planted turf and plenty of potatoes with pigs galore,
    Agra, musthore, and cabbage and the ladies,
    Success attend St. Patrick for he is the darling Saint O!
    He gave the snakes and toads that wished
    His beauty without paint O!

    The Wicklow hills are very high, and so is the hill of Howth sir,
    But there is a hill much higher still tis higher than them both sir,
    'Twas on the top of this big hill St Patrick preached a Sermon
    He drove the frogs into the bogs and murdered all the vermin.
    Success attend St Patrick for he is the handsome Saint O!
    He gave the snakes and toads that wished
    His beauty without paint O!
