  1. A man named Daniel Corkery was drowned in Granard river. He ws drowned about 20 years ago. He was a blind man, and walked into the river. It was late in the night he got drowned.
    There was a great sickness in 1918 which was called Influenza. It is supposed to have come with the soldiers, from the Great War. It spread all over the country, and hundreds of people died from it. It was not so bad in this locality then, but a share of people died from it.
