    pieces, and sovereigns and half sovereign. The sovereigns and half-sovereigns are still in use but are withdrawn from circulation. They are now very valuable. A sovereign is worth about 35s. at the present time. Many people especially the old hoard them up. Ten-shilling notes are now used very much instead of half-sovereigns.
