  1. The nearest patron saint that I know is Saint Benjamin. He was one of the English monks who, following the decision of Whitby in 644 A.D., came to Ireland. It was said that he was living in Tullylease for a while and his house got burned during the night when he was in bed, and in the morning he was perfect. There is a well called after him in Tullylease and people pay rounds to it on the 18th of Feb. I heard the old people say about ten years ago on the 18th of Feb there was one man who did not go to the well and a man came into the field to him and told him to go to the well and he didnt go and he got a hump.
