- Oisín was the son of Fionn Mac Cumhail. One day he was fishing in the lakes of Killarney. He saw a young girl coming towards him. Oisín asked her who she was and she told him and Oisín made himself known to her. After a long talk she told him that her father sent for Oisín to ask him if he could come to Tir na n-Óg. He told her that he would. She had a white steed and he got up behind her. They went to Tir na n-Óg and a great feast was got ready and Oisín was made King of Tir na n-Óg. He lived there for three hundred years and he thought it was only three years. He said he would go home to Ireland to see his father and a few other men. He tried to find them but it failed him. He saw three men raising a big stone and he rode near to give them a hand at it. When they were raising the stone the strap of the saddle broke and he fell off the steed. The minute he fell on the ground off with the steed to Tir na n-Óg. When Oisín touched the ground he became a withered old man.
