    The penalty is then proclaimed, and the payer of the forfeit must do as directed before his or her property is regained. All sorts of funny penalties may be demanded, such as standing on one leg and singing the National Anthem or eating gravy with a fork. Further suggestions will be found in another chapter appearing later in this book.
