A bunch of peelers went out one night,
In duty and patrolling-O.
They met a goat along the road,
And took him to be a stroller-O.2.
With bayonets fixed they all marched out,
And caught him by the wizen-O.
And they swore out a mighty oath,
They'd march him off to prison-O.3.

Pray let me tell my story-O.
For I am no rogue no ribon man,
No croppy wig or a tory-O.4.
I am guilty not of any crime,
In pety or high-treason-O.
For my tribe is wanting all this time,
For this is the milking season-O.- Collector
