  1. The names of some of our fields are, Páircín na bPort, Garraidhe na Comhlaighe, Páircín Y, the Cumars, Garraidhe Eogháin, Páirc Mór, (the people do not aspirate m) and Seana-Mile.
The name Páircín na bPort was given to that field because turf was cut there long ago, Garraidhe na Camhlaighe. there was an old house there (cabhlach) Páircin Y because the field it the shape of a "y", the Cumars because it is low field between two hills. Garraidhe Eoghain because a man named Eoghan used it for a garden long ago, and ever since the field was called after him. Páirc Mór beause it is a very big field; Seana-Mile because there was an old corn mill there long ago; the Long Meadow because it is a very long field.
