- A Fairy Story
Many years ago a man was clearing the foundation of a house, when he came upon the fairies' gold. He took it and sold it in the banks in Boyle, and got a good price for it. When he went home that night, imagine his surprise when the fairies began shouting for their money. Every night they were annoying him in this way, pegging stones at him and at his cow. He gathered all his neighbours to see to hurt them, but it was no use. The fairies kept annoying him, always calling for their money. They said to give them five pounds and they would leave him alone, and he gave the five pounds to them. They let him alone after that- Informant
